Justice Weldon Korir has stopped charges against Nairobi Governor until January 16.

The court reached the decision Monday morning after the lawyers of the two parties confirmed to the court that the effort to reconcile them has failed.

Director of Public prosecution Keriako Tobiko had ordered that Kidero to be charged for assault and Shebesh for creating public disturbance.

Shebesh Lawyer Cecil Miller told the court his client was willing to face charges of causing public disturbance and asked the court to move on and set a date for the charges preferred against her.

Kidero’s Lawyers Tom Ojienda said that negotiations were still on and accused Shebesh for a bad faith.

Justice Isaac Lenaola said the two Nairobi leaders had failed to reach an amicable solution to settle the matter between them.

Shebesh had accused Kidero for assaulting in an incident that was captured on a camera as shebesh led striking county workers to his office on September.

Justice Lenaola issued the order after a petitioner moved to court to block prosecution recommended by Director of Public prosecution against Kidero.
