A political activist has moved to court seeking orders to have the National Alliance Party Secretary General Mr. George Onyango Oloo removed from office.
The applicant Mr Rodgers Mogaka Mogusu has sought the orders on grounds that the secretary general was appointed the Chairman of Lake basin authority he therefore cannot hold two offices.
He told Justice Isaac Lenaola through his lawyer Pater Langat that, the registrar of political parties had in a circular dated 4 July 2013 warned Political Parties of non compliance those which doesn’t comply with circular will risk reregistration.
The court heard that the secretary general has become a state officer therefore disqualified him from holding office at the National Alliance Party
The lawyer further submitted that the registrar of political parties might deregister their Political party because of non compliance with the constitution and Political Party Act.
The application certified urgent and the applicant directed to serve upon Mr Oloo, National Alliance and the registrar of political parties and the matter be heard inter parties on 6 March 2014.
