President Uhuru Kenyatta visited former politician Kenneth Matiba at his home in South Coast.


Multi-Party Democracy hero Kennedy Matiba’s compensation case will be heard on 26 August 2014 for the court to determine what he should be awarded in terms of damages arising from his arrest and detention.
Matiba and his fellow politician Charles Rubia were arrested and held in various police stations where they were tortured unlawfully.
He has petitioned the high court to make a determination that he illegally held in 1990 in which he lost several his business empire and his political expectation was drawn to limpo.
The court will make assessment on general aggravated and exemplary damages that includes medical expenses. This will run to billions of shillings, according to the petition before the court.
The petition has been certified urgent to be heard during the high court vacation before duty judge Justice Isaac Lanaola.
