‘EXPUNGING ARTUR REPORT AFFRONT TO CONSTITUTION’ COURT TOLD.

Former envoy Antony Mwaniki Muchiri has sought to have petitioned filed by Kirinyaga Governor Joseph Ndathi dismissed.
Mr Muchiri says that the petition in which he and former Foreign affairs Permanent Secretary Mwangi Thuita has been enjoined lacks merits and should be struck out.
He told Justice Isaac Lenaola, that the governor is a key prosecution witness in criminal case facing him and Thuita and further the prosecutor has produced a report touching on Artur brothers where it touches on the governor.
The governor moved to court seeking an order to have his name expunged from the Artur brothers report prepared by a parliamentary committee which investigated the conduct of the two foreigners.
The governor in the application has sought an injunction restraining any members of the public from associating him with the report on the investigation to the conduct of the “Artur brothers” and their associates.
He told the court through his lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, that the report is erroneous, scandalous and its has been mentioned in criminal case facing Thuita and Muchiri
The lawyer told court that some of the contents of the report were manipulated to concealed the people behind the two brothers who had direct connection at the highest level of government and further stated that Mary wambui her daughter Winnie Mwai were close associates of the two foreigners.
It further noted that Mr Stanely Murage former Permanent secretary and special advisor to the tPresident Mwai Kibaki was a key player in the saga.

The case will be heard on 17 September before Justice Mumbi Ngugi.
