A police officer charged with murder of two brothers has filed an application seeking bail pending the hearing of his criminal case.
The accused Titus Ngamau Musila Alias Katitu, says in his application that the offence he his facing is bailable and the court should consider offering him bond.
He says through his lawyer Cliff Ombeta, that the hearing os his case may take long before it’s determined and that he stands to suffer irreparable loss while in prison.
The officer is accused of Kennedy Kamande Mwangi on August 14. 2013 the matter was reported to police to carry investigation.
The director of public prosecution Keriako Tobiko recommendation for arrest and subsequently charged with offence of murder.
The prosecution says that, before arrest could take place he shot the elder brother of the deceased Oscar Muchoki Mwangi whom he allegedly shot six times on August 24.
Muchoki was to be a prosecution witness against the officer.
The application for bail will be argued on Friday 19. 2014.
The accused is remanded at Industrial area awaiting the trial and was formerly attached to Kasarani police station.
