Former President Daniel Arap Moi who has been sued by Susan Cheburet Chelugui demanding for her land in Uasin Gishu County.

Retired President Daniel Arap Moi has been sued by woman demanding her land in Uasin Gishu County.
The 76 year old lady Susan Cheburet Chelugui who is one of the administrator of the estate of her late husband Noah Kipngeny Chelugui, says their land measuring 53 acres was fraudulently taken away by Moi during the time he was head of state.
Her attempt to get the land back has hit deadlock, and she has sought the intervention of the court to have suit property reverted back to the estate of her late husband.
The woman says in her suit papers, that her late husband was the owner and registered proprietor of the parcel of land L.R No 10492 Uasin Gishu, the land is currently in the name of Rai Plywood Kenya
limited.
The applicant through her lawyer William Alusei, will be asking the court to make declaration that acquisition of the suit land was arbitrary, unconstitutional, irregular and tainted with a nullity
which must be reverted back to estate of late Chelugui.
” There is a whole procedure and legal regime of the sale and transfer of land but in the instance case the late Stanely Kiptoo Arap Metto through deception obtained the original title by claiming that he could facilitate the sale of the land” the lawyer says.
The Land and Environment Division of the high court has directed that the application be served upon Moi, Rai Plywood limited the national land commission and registrar of tittles before the matter is
fixed for hearing.
