AN administration police officer was on Monday charged before a Makadara court for stripping a form three student aged 16 years in Kayole estate in Nairobi.
Christopher Gathara 27, charged along side Samuel Maina Ngige 24, a tout, were accused of jointly with others not before court they indecently assaulted the minor by stripping her naked for wearing a short skirt.
They were also charged with assault and damaging windscreen of bus belonging to Mwamba Sacco on 23rd November. They denied the charge before chief magistrate Emilly Ominde and were directed to execute personal bond of Sh50,000 and a surety of similar amount.
The two were also charged with another count of assaulting beating the minor and her mother Patricia Nkatha on the same date and occasioning them actual bodily harm.
They were further charged with malicious damage of a vehicle windscreen valued at Sh15, 000 belonging to Mwamba Sacco the offence on November 23 at Kayole Estate in Nairobi.
Prosecution reports indicate that the two complainants boarded a vehicle and were heading to their home in Komarock.
The officer Gathara started seducing the student but she refused to talk to him.
The police was told that the officer started abusing her after refusing to give in to him and was joined by Maina who threatened to strip her and her mother. Maina then poured juice that he was drinking on the skirt of the student and started touching her thighs by rubbing them. Her mother Nkatha tried to intervene by asking why they were doing that but the accused persons threatened to strip her too if she makes any move.
Gathara started beating her for not allowing them strip her daughter and she was beaten with slaps and punches by the officer, court prosecutor Anjela Fuchaka said
The bus conductor on noticing that there was commotion in the bus and the minor was being stripped, he alerted the driver who drove the vehicle to Kayole police station and the two were arrested.
An Administration Police officer was among three men arrested for attempting to strip a woman Sunday in Komarock, Nairobi.
Police said the four men confronted the woman as she walked home from the Calvary Church in Komarock accompanied by another woman.
Police who came to the scene discovered that one of the attackers was an Administration Police officer.
The incident came barely a week after hundreds of protesters took to Nairobi streets to condemn the humiliating public stripping of three Kenyan women earlier this month.
Last week, police arrested at least 100 men in Kayole for stripping a woman.The case will be heard on February 9.
