A terror suspect was nabbed at President Uhuru Kenyatta’s residential home in Gatundu and has been arraigned in court by the anti terrorism police.
The suspect Said Mire Siyad, was brought to court together other seven who were arrested elsewhere in Nairobi
The state prosecutor Daniel Karori, told the court that police have established the motive by the suspect found at the Presidential resident.
He however told resident Magistrate Edda Agade, that the police believe that the suspect was sent to carry our surveillance for terrorist attack.
Police have not established reason of trespassing to the Presidential home by the suspect and the people behind it.
Mr Karori said that since the (Siyad) was arrested on April 21 police have not had adequate time to conduct investigation against him and require 15 days to complete the probe.
Pursuant to the brief investigation carried out suspect ha other associates who yet to be arrested.
Mr Karori told the court that investigations require detailed extraction of mobile phone records from Safaricom to ascertain the nature of communication and contact persons.
Another suspect Omar Said Ahmed an employee of Kengen Company limited located along Mombasa road was also paraded before the court that the police believe he is involved in terrorism activities.
The prosecution told the court that the suspect is said to be conducting radicalization pro grammes for the youths and has facilitated to the disappearance of his son to join Ali Shabaab group.
Police will have travel as far WEST Pokot collect more evidence against him before a decision is made to charge him.
Th trial court ordered that suspects be jointly held at Kilimani police station for a period of 15 days to allow police to carry out investigation into their activities.
