HIGH COURT HAS QUASHED REGULATIONS IMPOSED UPON PUBLIC TRANSPORT ON NIGHT TRAVEL.

High Court has quashed regulations set up  by the National Transport Authority and imposed upon the public transport.
Justice George Odunga said the that removed the TLP from the transporters were not done within principal of the law has established in the constitution.
He said the regulation which the owners of the public transport were being asked to comply which led to the ban of night travelers were in  law bad and cannot be sustained.
Justice Odunga gave the minister  for transport a period of 60 days to file a report in court to show how those regulation were, which appear to affect the public  and have also interfered with freedom of movement
The court further found and held that regulation requiring the owners PSV vehicles to have certain brand of speed governor was irregular and  imposed  with faith, he declared the regulation as null and void

The judge said  its incumbent upon the minister for transport to hold a consultative meeting with the stakeholders to come up clear regulation that benefit all. Through their lawyer  Harrison Kinyanjui after the government  issued  ban on night travel.

High Court wij in three weeks time to decide whether Ferdinard Waititu is fit to assume as chairman of Athi Water Service Board.This after a business man Benson Ritho moved to court to challenge the appointment of the former Embakasi Member of Parliament Ferdinard Waititu on integrity issues.Ritho has accused the Environment Water and Natural Resources Cabinet Secretary Judi Wakhungu for failing to take in account chapter on integrity and leadership issues.
